The Friends of the County Parks, established in 1988, is a group of concerned citizens joining together to promote and develope public awareness of recreation as an important part of day-to-day life. The Friends of the County Parks has a 501 C3 not-for-profit exemption status.
The Wilderness Trails Association was formed as a volunteer group to keep the bicycle trails in the Lower Hillborough Wlderness Park, located just East of I-75, open for public recreation and to provide a safe and enjoyable riding experience for users of the trails.
The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Dpartment provides for the public a standard of excellence in service, facilities, programs and preservation of resources while woking in concert with residents and the county's leadership.
